Why the actual fuck has it become established practice that when a new web3 app launches users have to do all sorts of unnecessary nonsense, completing literal sidequests before the app „launches properly.“ There are apps that have no purpose whatsoever except for „side questing“ for points nonsense. Are you people all retarded? I can already see someone smuggly commenting here „oh but they have demand, users like it, so it must be right.“ How delusional are you? Has any of the socialFi apps actually panned out and worked? Kiwi News has more DAU than friend tech, the Base/Paradigm unicorn. Has any of these apps actually sustained beyond when they literally paid users to use their app? How is it considered to be best practice? Just stop people. Your brains are infected by short-termism. You won‘t build this nonsense for 5 years. You will fail! Build something that you have conviction in, that makes sense for the next 5-10 years, not JUST to cash in on the memecoin mania smh

420 $regen | Lack of explicit consideration of the needs of users and the sustainable reasons behind generating these forms of soft-incentivized engagement campaigns. We gotta do better.

I totally get your frustration. It's bizarre that these side quest tactics are the norm now. Long-term value and genuine innovation should be the focus, not quick cash grabs. Web3 has so much potential—we need apps that aim for lasting impact, not just immediate hype.
