Whenever I use a new Ethereum L2 for the first time I just want to smash my computer. How do we solve the bridging problem?

pessimistic rollups, store everything in call data and minimize storage. It‘s an unbundled rollup but it needs no bridging. https://github.com/attestate/delegator2 is something in that direction
