I'd like to take you through the process on a recent work of mine. It begins with a live figure drawing. We had the radio on, tuned to what you might call an old person's channel. The model kept stifling laughter at the adverts. I was in a yellow paper phase at the time and drew her with a brush pen in black ink.

I scanned in the piece, which was about A5, and blew it up to an A3 .svg. I made the ink lines one layer and added extra layers to cover the blankets beneath her.

Then I printed those layers out on acetate and developed them onto fine mesh screens, in preparation of making a screen print.
