Everyone in their lives need to read only 10 books. But to find those, one needs to read 1,000. For me "The Tibetan Book of the Dead" was one such book. What it's like to be a dead spirit?

It serves as a guide for the after-death experience. It may all seem like fun and games, and a bit out there, until you try ayahuasca and experience what it's like to be a spirit.

In that realm, it's dark and so cold; nothing can warm you up, the warmth of the living is no longer accessible, and it's just you and your demons, with no one to help, as everyone else is tormented by the same battles.

When you are dead, there will be no guides, and you will wish for any bit of hope to navigate through the darkness. Having said that, my ayahuasca experience was amazing, as I realised in the midst of it that it is exactly what the book described, the exact same journey.

There's another dimension to being out there, experiencing of which was achieved by different cultures separated by time and continents. This book is the best equipment for that.

Each one of us has a call within them, has a soul searching and longing for something - for if you didn't, you wouldn't be reborn yet again into this world. This book, however, doesn't provide an answer to the call but offers an insight into how and where this call originates.

It's an awesome book. Been a while though. You've inspired me to go back. See if it's one of my 10.

Yes. The book does give you guidance for otherwise hopeless situations - as a dead spirit you can't think, you don't have will, you are at the mercy of visions. So the book guides you through this onto the next rebirth. But the ultimate goal is to guide you to escape the eternal cycle and exit to Nirvana. It is hope

Interested in reading now but what you described sounds pretty hopeless. Is there any light at the end of all that darkness?
