I am largely tuned out of the details here. But I am curious as to your thoughts on the idea that some of these leaders intentionally take a different approach with democrats than with republicans to make the former look incompetent because they are more politically aligned with the latter.

I suspect this played at least some role. Trump said repeatedly he wanted Netenyahu to finish the job. I suspect this is either very temporary or was planned from the get go. It’s also worth noting the congress just voted to engage in economic warfare (they already have a bill in place that allows literal warfare) with any state that tries to arrest Netenyahu on behalf of the ICJ.
