Every generation is both based and cringe. The silent generation was not based, they were responsible for so much patriarchal, racist, and sexist policy that the Boomers became hippies and are responsible for so much important legislation being passed. Boomers also aged into the broken economy politicians from the GI Generation (like Nixon, Reagan) and the Silent Generation created, meaning they themselves became broken shitty capitalist exploiters doing what they felt they had to do to survive. Inherited trauma. This explains the cycle they perpetuate. As time progressed each other group is definable as based or cringe not by their generation/age range, but merely by how much they feel the need to exploit others to function in the toxic hellhole that is late stage capitalism. Also, one assumes, folks just swap out the order of these depending on which generation they call their own, in the same way you can game eenie-meenie-miney-moe

tl;dr you can’t group people by their generation in any meaningful way. If you could we probably would never have disruption, activism, or change.
