@aeyakovenko @samczsun I mean, I can totally see this going to the extreme with memecoins, so that all people get scammed and don't touch the purely speculatory aspect for a while. That's what is happening now: natural immunity. Maybe that's the way.

But just sayin, ICO era coins were better. DeFi…

@newmichwill @samczsun DeFi summer was way worse - leverage loops that created a nasty house of cards. There is virtually no contagion from memecoins.

Whoa, is Toly really that naive or is he just always making bad faith statements? People use DeFi (!) to buy memecoins (!), often on leverage (!), to this day. Given the volatility of memecoins and their effect on the market as a whole, they would of course create “contagion”
