The more crypto elevates people like Martin Shkreli as thought leaders, the more politicians and normal people will view our industry as a collection of criminals and pro-authoritarian extremists who are trying to scam them.

Also this is an insanely stupid take. Trump’s appointments were all super anti-crypto. Not only that but most financial policy passes through the senate. Focus on that. The problem, as it has always been is twofold: 1) US voters don’t understand their system 2) the US system is badly designed

And Trump has also made more anti-crypto statements than Biden. But even if all of that weren't the case, anyone who thinks putting criminal authoritarians in power won't eventually backfire either doesn't know history, or is hoping they can make a quick buck and escape while everyone else faces the consequences.

That’s it exactly! Trump wants to be a dictator. He has said so many times. Dictators don’t provide their citizens the means to usurp their power. It takes some serious cognitive dissonance to ignore that.

Much like the dissonance it takes to be anti-crypto while grifting shitty nft collections and shitty gold sneakers all the while to raise money to pay for the nebula of legal battles
