Anecdotally, dozens of friends have joined Bluesky and none of them had previously used Mastodon, Threads, or any crypto alternative. Network effects go slowly then all at once. And Bluesky just added a very TikTok-like video feed. It’s hard though. Algorithm and Zuck aside, Instagram is a great product, Facebook groups and marketplace are solid and very popular, and WhatsApp is the best chat UX period.
