to be fair the implication was that I’ve spent over 1 ETH minting stuff on mainnet and over 0.01 or something minting on L2. So it’s more of a rebate than a payoff but hey I’ll take it!

haha wow that mainnet fees are unaffordable, even to transact lol crazy, only people getting many airdrops or buying NFTs that grow 10x can afford it

Yeah I used to eat so much expense just to experiment. And all the money I spent came from my writing so I was not profiting really from all my hard work. On the bright side now L2s have hit the mainstream and I don’t even consider using L1 anymore personally

L1 fees is what kept me off web3 actually for a few years, I entered polygon at that time but wasn't much going on there + haven't been in any community
