I find that if I try waiting for motivation or energy to do something I'll wait forever.

I have to make a decision and some small action, then rinse and repeat.

For example many many years ago my alarm would wake me and I'd lie in bed waiting until I felt like it's time to get up. That feeling never came, but some other thing I'd committed to (e.g. work) did force me to move.

Pretty sure CBT predicts this i.e. thoughts create feelings.

it's easy to find an excuse. good reminder to let my actions dictate my feelings not other way around
