We sophisticates might have read A Random Walk Down Wall Street and Bogel. But to most people their investable universe is bank deposits and stonks they see on investment forums. Both of these things are broken now. 2/2

I think gambling is the most basic financial structure. It converts a small sum into a potential capital purchase, and does so regardless of inflation, and without the need to maintain long-term contracts or records. 1/2

Stream of thought: DAOs & AI make animism great again. Most of our ancestors believed that everything was alive to some degree. People talked to trees. They prosecuted on behalf of rivers. Is doing that for a talking car, or a web of co-living spaces, any less weird?

One meta-note on the situation, is that in my timeline I have seen exactly zero non-western people defending Durov's arrest, but quite a few western people. Definitely don't want to say that they don't exist (after all, my timeline is biased just like anyone's), just this is what my sample is so far. IMO this is another example of the decoupling of liberalism and westernism that https://x.com/MacaesBruno often talks about.

I can see a future where client navigate between rollups using ENS metadata, which solves a lot of issues, especially since shared infra will make rollups cheap. (Not sure how this will work with starless validators.) 14/17 https://x.com/VitalikButerin/status/1742540651797823948
