The 3 biggest social apps seem to be:
- Twitter: text first
- Instagram: image first
- TikTok: video first

I still believe that there is a play for an audio first social media. Clubhouse got close. 

Podcasts and audiobooks are very highly consumed content, why isn’t this experience social?

i think the default mindset for audio (podcasts & audiobooks) is more of a "one-way" information dissemination mode. which is arguably very different from the ones you mentioned:

twitter: RT/reply/tweet
TikTok & IG: post/like
