I wonder how accurate are LLMs ability to identify calories in food. If it’s accurate, isn’t it super high EV to build your own food journal / calorie tracker (with on device LLM).

How exactly are you asking it? Show it a picture or give a food or dish name or give it a description?

guessing it's pretty accurate since there's so much nutrition data on the web. could maybe even set accuracy level. like if you say: "I drank a glass of almond milk" it'll give you a best guess for a loose setting, but at a strict setting it asks for specifics "How big was the glass? Was it sweetened? etc."
