too fibrous, sometimes too mushy, too sweet usually, and cutting it is an absolute pain 

the only exception is half ripe mangos

Not a fan of the mango flavour in general, unless there’s some tartness 

and throw in the texture, fibres, and messy preparation it’s a no go

How about in a smoothie or sorbet? When you don’t need to deal with the fibers and texture, just the flavor?
