my 1 year old is starting his daycare this week. for parents who've been down this road, what's the best piece of advice for the transition? any lessons you learned the hard way?

Here transition was pretty smooth, but check what food they give to your child! In the US, it can be pretty wild. For instance, we thought they were giving carrots to kids for a snack (all good), but a few months later we realized they were dipping the carrots in maple syrup "because kids prefer it this way" ๐Ÿ˜ฑ That's the one thing I'd be worried about: Be very attentive and careful about the food they give your kid. I love the US, but there is no food culture here, and nobody realizes how harmful it can be for kids later on if you give them food they should not eat. My 2 (french) cents :)
