I actually agree with that. 
Channels serve almost no purpose today. Before the changes, channels were seen as "increased distribution" but today we don't really know why they exist.

So I would be supportive of groups becoming private (replacing group chats which are really not great for group chats conversation, as soon as it gets too busy... it quickly becomes unusable) and direct casts just being 1:1 DMs only.

Make channels great again :)
