1/2 While this (not posting food pics during Ramadan) seems "reasonable" and "easy to do", it opens up a whole can of worms. I know religion is a taboo topic, but I just have to ask. This is definitely not criticism, but more in a way of "let's clear the air". Some people replied to @basedkitty.eth with "Finally someone said it" while some replied with "Sorry, but that seems entitled, feel free to practice your religion without infringing on any liberties to people that don't practice your religion". But I wanted to grasp what other people think, not just about this, but other things closely connected to it. E.g. Gambling is haram. It is not even up for debate. Are the non-muslim farcasters supposed to not post anything about any gamble (card games like poker, any sort of chance game) whatsoever on Warpcast, strictly because someone cannot practice it and may be tempted? Or are Muslim people expected to "avoid" that kind of content? Full disclaimer, my kneejerk reaction would be closer to the latter.

I find it interesting. If i see you play poker, and i don't wanna play or can't play because of work, that's pretty ok. If i haven't eaten anything in 10 hours, i'm starving, and i see you posting amazing pics of your dinner, it hurts more. i agree with you that everyone is free to do whatever they want and post whatever they want. Its not censored. I see it more as a way of trying to be empathetic with other people. Other cultures. Other ways of doing. Like not posting food for a few days probably won't affect me that much, will it?

I understand. But my point was more in a way of "where is the line?". It is reasonable to assume me casting about having heaps of fun playing poker may cause some people (that are not allowed to play it) have the urge. This is IMO not a lack of empathy on my part. But a lack of self control on their part and (in absence of a better word) a bit of entitlement.

i see your point and i was definitely not saying you have no empathy but more does it cost me anything? In this case, not much. Also i'm not forced to do it, i'm politely asked. it's my own perspective to see if i want to do somehting or not. Where to draw any line is pretty difficult, and the lane will never be the same based on gender, culture, religion etc. So yeah, the question remains interesting.

it doesn't cost much. But it's the "if you have nothing to hide, why not show the cops your browser history and the content of your computer" analogy. And yes, exactly my (unsaid) point. Difficult line to draw. Which is why I understand some people thinking even this (small request) is over the line. Not to make this an islam/Muslim thing, for this Lent, I have decided to abstain from beer (true story). Would it be OK for me to politely ask/request of entire warpcast to not show any beer pictures? I think it would not (be ok). But if I did, I'd still defend everyone's right to say to me "that's incredibly entitled, @ramsey"
