Honestly I think that, at least in North America, the general age of ... age, has decreased over the last few decades. I think that there has been something of a worship/cult of youth portrayed through culture that doesn't tend to honour wisdom, age, maturity, responsibility, etc. Those things are seen as "bad", and it feels like it supports an individual shirking of responsibility etc, that tends to lead to our current era being full of a lot of men "Peter Pan-ing" out there lol Ofc perhaps this has always been the case lol But I feel like there is more distraction and less conviction these days. (Kids these days πŸ˜‚ jk) The system creates the results to a large degree. I used to do a lot of work with youth and young adults, and it's wild to hear the stories of decades past when the whole camp would go climb a local mountain for several hours one day in the summer, back in the 60s & 70s and by the time I was working there in the late 90s/early 00s it would've been impossible for all but a few campers.
