Technically, yes, but casting in a channel also gets you more chance at exposure, which can lead to greater Moxie accumulation in the long run.  

I see the channel fee as almost a marketing cost.  They get me exposure, they get a cut of the profit.

I also do think that those casts definitely end up on friends feeds, while channel casts can get lost. Just speculating though
