I’m more… I don’t want to say cautious, but at least conscientious about how I’m using AI these days (am I shortcutting some important aspects of skill development?)

dumber? i dunno. 

lazier maybe? but it's left to interpretation. i personally use AI to streamline most tasks. 
does that make me dumber? i don't think so. 

like you said about the calculator and computer, AI is taking away the labor-intensive part of tasks. 
wow. i'm actually not sure. mm. 

does it take away (critical) thinking? or does it enhance it? 
because i use AI to organise some complex thoughts i have and it's been super useful. 

but now, i'm thinking that about whether it takes away the joy of just sitting with your thoughts and ruminating over them (think Greek philosophers). and is this a good thing or bad?

yeah. exactly! 

funny thought. i remember starting out in programming, and 60% of the time, i figured out how to fix a bug on a walk. no phones. just me and nature. 

same thing with thoughts in general. 

maybe AI takes that away. it's something to think about, actually. i might write about it.

that last part is what I’m most worried about losing—although it sucks balls to review my notes and re-remember what I wanted to write or do (as opposed to dumping it all into AI) maybe that’s the part I’m supposed to do myself, you know?
