I was an eng manager at Google. These were the best 1:1s: - report was prepared and had clear agenda shared beforehand - gave and received feedback very well - discussed growth opps, OKRs, project next steps - was transparent and communicated extremely well

+1 to these and one more that works consistently well, I find - weekly “how were your last couple of weeks, on a scale from “couldn’t have been better” to “couldn’t have been worse” or 0-10”? Helps find problematic areas and roadblocks, if any.
