on a different platform, in nov 2020, i asked whether our current version of democratic theory makes an implicit assumption of a largely homogeneous electorate that doesn't have fundamentally irreconcilable values.

as noble a concept as it is – 

the growing number for whom it’s an ideal they either can't afford, have no clear idea how to leverage or are desperate for drastic action to help reverse their dire affairs

Imagining the state when the coffers were filled with abundance, polis was still at the epicentre of community, allied partners were able to contribute funds – or ships – and marble was the foundation of art

we must remember its origins as a form of political organisation
