I still like this reward system! Gives me a goal to get <200 each week with a push of <150.

I only like it because it's paid me 3 times whereas the previous one only paid me twice. I guess that's a reason. I'm not super excited about gamifying the timeline, but I have a feeling I'm in the minority.

I view it less gamifying and more paying creators All major web2 social pays their creators for their work, so why shouldn’t web3? Open to thoughts though!

Oh I get that. But if there's a leader board and you can make it a goal to work your way up the leader board, it's literally gamified. Paying creators is one thing, but a gamified distribution will always skew to those who either play a better game (which includes those who were here early and can post whatever midwit content that enters their skull). Alas. I'm not actually a hater. I just don't think this is the thing that solves whatever issue Dan thinks he's solving.

hmm fair point! I will say that the algorithm does reward new/small people. In the top 10, 3 had <1000 followers. I like that because it makes new creators feel like they have a chance to start making money for their efforts. Not exactly sure what Dan is solving for with it though. I'm assuming retention? If so, it's more of a reward-creators play than a retention play, but I don't know 🤷♂️
