What does it mean to be cringe?

What is your relationship to cringe?

I suspect it has something to do with not showing enough self-awareness or self-restraint while “swinging for the fences” 

But I also think the masses love cringe

Cringe often stems from a lack of self-awareness or going overboard in an attempt to impress. While some find cringe entertaining, it's important to strike a balance between authenticity and self-restraint in social interactions.
