Can I still be a psychotherapist when my heart is broken? π A memoir of self-healing, a history of Jewish persecution... π the Choice (Embrace the Possible) πDr. Editgh Eva Eger πa memoir The author is a Jew and a survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp. This book recalls important events in the author's life. The main plot is the author and her family's experience in the concentration camp, and the subsequent lifelong healing journey with scars (severe post-traumatic stress disorder). It cannot be said that she was completely cured in the end, but she gained spiritual freedom and became a psychologist, helping and inspiring many people with her own story. The book says: We cannot change the harm we have suffered, but we can choose how to view these harms and how to live well in the present and the future. π
