I wonder when the demand side for decentralised GPU marketplaces will kick in. Will probably require heavy BD + Marketing + technical breakthroughs on distributed computing There's no lack of supply of consumer GPUs rn. IO.net has 300K+ GPUs on its network.

IO net has empty demands. Alternatively, check @heurist-ai's portal (https://www.heurist.ai/portal). The consumer GPUs integrated in its network are running workloads in every sec. very good point, i've been reflecting on an adjacent question; what will be the key differentiator for the most successful distributed compute platform(s) (feels like new ones pop up every week). balanced supply/demand is likely one key.

Honestly unless retail starts picking up NVLinked h100s for fun, I don't think there's an overwhelming market for cloud-based Home GPU compute. Per-hour providers are usually very competitively priced, and have the reliability/upload for better assurance in training/inference tbh.

Doesn't the increased latency and complexity for serious wotk a cross distributed systems make a hard sell. If single gpus had the memory would be more potential
