I created the /commitment channel on a whim to help myself remain accountable.

Since then, it has grown beyond my expectations and has a thriving community with >10k followers.

Today I’m starting a new channel to help with another personal commitment: /teetotal 

Like many, I have a fraught relationship with alcohol. Growing up in America, alcohol was a core part of many formative social experiences. 

But the downsides are significant. I don’t need to name them here as everyone is familiar with the deleterious effects. 

So I’m starting the teetotal channel as a way for others to share their journey with sobriety. If you’re considering alcohol abstinence or are curious about life without booze, join the channel to find a community like you.

Congratulations on /teetotal Phils, I think this is actually a big step.

The alcohol culture in America has  been there for ages and I wonder sometimes if at a point it will subside if people knew more about the health implications. 
What do you think about this? And also will you be sharing some of the implications with people who aren’t so enlightened?
