Revenue will almost certainly make you more money than VC funding will ever will, unless youâre Ryan breslow. If you have a long term perspective then these two are often at odds, go with revenue and youâll learn far more

I love the fact you always want to an impact. Something I actually admire. Your drive is crazyyyy, working on a project for that long. How come I never heard about the older projects? The one you didnât abandon, where is that now? And besides what made you abandon the other one, you werenât seeing results you wanted?

I abandoned the data privacy project because it was clear that all any enterprise wanted to do in the name of data privacy was post a sign that says âyour data is secureâ but they didnât want to actually do anything along that path The project before that was called Unoceros, we built distributed computing on a network of mobile phones. Theres a lot I could say about that project, and probably should, at some point. I will say this, it worked, it was bonkers, and I failed at championing that which we knew to be correct

Always had that feeling data wasnât and has never been secure. Enterprises are more worried about making money putting in the actual work, shouldnât be so but thatâs what we live with. Why do you think they fail to recognize this? Or am I just correct.

Iâll probably just loop back to my VC money is a problem argument and begin pointing a finger there, and I believe justifiably so in the case of data and data practices There are massive pretend solutions in place, but theyâre mostly SaaS gibberish, for example OneTrust a product that, at least in 2020, had millions in sales and no evidence of use or usability. Viable solutions must consider data as an object belonging to a user natively. Data in web2 does not have a native owner, all of that is patched in conceptually later
