Domestic dogs have a total mass similar to the combined biomass of all wild terrestrial mammals. Domestic cats have a total biomass of almost double that of the african savanna elephant. https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2204892120

Things being compared, esp in numerical terms, are a way of humans trying makes sense of things otherwise completely ignored by the universe. It would take 450 billion of these characters side by side to go around the world and write the words 777 $degen in exactly the same spot as where I began typing.

I have no ability to comprehend billions other than through comparisons. 100 crores or 10000 lakhs doesn’t help. The one I use is that saving 50k a year would be a billion in 20k years - about the time between now & the last ice age.

in much less than Threescore and ten, you nor I will have to worry about this, and the universe will carry on not worrying about too for long long long long time...a number surely as big as the number of atoms in the, uhm, universe.

That’s only this universe - a (no doubt) insignificant node in a potentially infinite number of such things - we’ll be back eventually maybe an infinite number of times. Financiers may believe in infinite growth from finite resources - I hold more firmly to a greater than finite number of all things.
