How long do sprains take to heal to the extent that you don’t feel them any longer? A long fucking time. I fought a car at ETH Denver and earned a sprained wrist. I gave the PT very high, consistent daily attention for 5 months. I had ~90% range of motion back by 3 months. It’s now 8 months and it’s the first time I’ve been able to hold a handstand fully waited without pain, still at about 97% on recovery. No alcohol, great sleep and diet, no processed sugar, well hydrated, 8 months to < 100% Without attention and discipline, a simple sprain can become a lifelong injury

I just remembered your cast from a few weeks ago about going was it sky diving with your kid and friends kid You did that with a sprained wrist? And even everything you’ve been doing lately, you mean you’ve been doing all that with a sprained wrist? That’s pretty amazing

I think a lot of perception is that an athlete is 100% most of the time, the reality is most athletes are competing with some type of injury as they’re giving it their all. It’s just part of it though, and counterintuitively it’s part of what drives recovery. Use it or lose it
