100% but now the information is tainted/lower-quality/incentivised it also only support a certain type of creators/information types e.g. large audience, large reach, engaging lots of content/information type out there that just need different models that allows for their emergence. good analogy being the increase in long form content and creators allowed by the substack business model

best creators still make top quality work outside of brand deals; in fact, brand deals are what allow them to continue doing their own work. esp true of female lifestyle influencers. Substack also falling to dark patterns; best substack authors use it as newsletter and the newsletter gets sponsored or brand placements
