one of the most encouraging parts about a wave of indie journalists joining FC is that it shows us (or at least me) that mainstream media or news =/= all journalists.

the number of journalists joining recently has actually been a personal reason why farcaster has been feeling stickier lately

I’ld say it  blurs the line between reporting and commentary. It’s refreshing, but raises questions about how we define journalism outside traditional structures. IMO
