i’m 1000% for onchain creators, but this feels a bit disingenuous Jesse, someone with the greatest distribution on base, makes $6k on a mint on Zora but the same wouldn’t happen for someone with minimal distribution onchain in fact, a new artist would have to *pay* to put their music onchain and may get no mints

are we still in the early days of distribution? yes, absolutely. but if you do a side by side comparison, it's clearly 10x better. - person with distribution: clear path to making 10x more onchain - person without distribution: no way to make money offchain, make money on day onchain, even if it's limited by distro. also anyone can create for free on platforms like @zora.

made like 6k when jesse and base shared my lil lovers collection in feb <3 🙏 made like $100 or less off of every other mint i've dropped pre- zora mint fee drop. Now with zora's new fees, I'm lucky if a mint makes $10 of of a mint 🤷♂️ Grateful for shares from tastemakers and influencers. One share could feed a family for months. Big accounts: Share/surface more art 🙏

I thought a lot about it last times (maybe because I'm a creator with small distribution), and I think a social platform reaches a minimum impact value when it become its own distribution network allowing its creator to build an economy on it, for now it's not the case for zora, rodeo or farcaster one by one neither for them all together. X remain the main distribution network and a study on it might show a direct link between followers count on X and average mints. This space is still in its early days, culture changes take between 5 and 10 years, so we have to be patient and focus on the right metrics (not one time numbers by biggest accounts in space but the average for the median account) All that to say I fully agree with you !
