petty or focused? your answer suggests they care more about $$ than about ethereum alignment, which doesn't make sense to me.

I didn't know they were invited. I just assumed they had a fixed sponsorship fee and Solana foundation was willing to pay it. I suppose the organizers could have rejected it anyway but that might look a bit petty?
