we need a new word for minting

currently feels like forced behavior that mainstream users won’t fuck with

agree, i had this conversation yesterday and it boiled down to:

me: you mint it

them: no no no you pay to collect it, why are you trying to psyop us with the word "mint"

the actual answer is because minting increases supply (i.e. like minting currency) while buying could be from someone else, not from the smart contract aether

but maybe that's too complex economics for the mainstream
