who has more influence: devs or cultural leaders? imo the relationship b/w the two is bidirectional, but devs have a stronger, more transformative impact on society the best devs care to build something that meets consumer demand, which is not always mutually inclusive w/ "cool" we tend to forget that last part

idk the answer but my 2c is it’s easy to build in an echo void by just casting about the hot trend, a lot tougher to choose a long term goal(espc when it’s unsexy) and stick it out *sometimes* those two groups overlap though!

agree!! not mutually inclusive nor mutually exclusive long term vision typically beats out short term trends, unless you’re a CPG brand sometimes — we’ve seen this with lashes, press on nails, etc but in that case do the devs (product devs) help accelerate culture then? idkkkk!!!!

i think they can if more people/devs adopt the mindset that devs are artists! 👨🎨 👨🎨
