engagement farming is everywhere there’s a tiktok trend “teamwork” where the girls comment some variation of “teamwork ✨” and start a 10k follow train girls supporting girls to build up small followings together only dif is tiktoks algo is so good it filters out this content for those who don’t want it

I watched a “leaked” video once of a tiktok engagement farm in china. There was like 10,000 devices plugged in to a system that auto promotes certain phrases. Crazy.

but here in farcaster I don't understand some people, no matter how good your content is, some people don't even see it and don't praise it at all and they only engage with people who have a powerbadg. I think that's a bit of a shame here

Ngl I participated in engagement farming once and that one time was enough for me ton understand I don't like it. What is the point of having someone uninterested in your content like them? They won't even look at it....

I think the identity of social media is based on engagement farming. Otherwise, why would someone share their photo on a website if no one sees it? Everyone wants to upload content that their friends, and then others, will pay attention to. I remember back in 2014, there was a competition among my friends to see whose Instagram post would get the most likes... It gave teenagers a sweet feeling of power.
