When I want to make my own channel, what do I do?

Still confused how to create my own channel - super confusing 

- I was told I need Warps, ok, but I expected to just click - Create a channel, pick a name and I'll get redirected to pay something and it will happen? 
But doesn't work like this for me, am I doing something wrong? Btw tried on comp and mobile 😬
