In Portugal (where I am from) is quite normal to have bread and butter brought to your table at restaurants, (plus some olives and cheese sometimes) as starters.

Without you even order them 😃

They are charging for bread now?  Some of the best bread I’ve had was at Providence in West Hollywood.  They go deep into sourcing the grains and butter 😂
