Facebook (the website, not the company) is so very ngmi

I just went there for the first time in a long while to sell a couch on FB Marketplace

Immediately hit with three low effort scam attempts. Looks like real peoples accounts, since taken over by bots

& news feed is a ghost town

I think the marketplace shows utility. No percentages taken from the sale. More of a community resource. A potential public good. 

Of course im not naive that my data is being used, but I find it useful, and better than any alternative as I’ve sold 10+ items in the last year.
