In retrospect, decentralized social network has been terrible framing for Farcaster. Two recent frames that are better: 1. Farcaster is an economy — social network + crypto wallets, small but high GDP per capita, h/t @woj.eth @luc 2. Programmable social — X APIs are dead, Farcaster APIs are constantly getting better, h/t @six It's still (mostly) decentralized under the hood, but lean into the things that it's really good at relative to the competition.

The thinking for me shifted a while ago here. Probably post frames and when growth stalled. I realized that despite the lack of growth, there was still economic activity happening internally because it could my first co was sending USDC by facilitating b/n Product teams and UX participants. Bountycaster, Airstack etc. Had this convo with @altmbr over dinner at FarCon as well.

it could.* Now it feels like the best success path is reducing the friction somewhat, hyper charging is probably a mistake. You want “sustained GDP growth”. Use that success to draw in new participants that are interested in an onchain social economy. Also, don’t forget Zora mints in frame.
