How do we add that "Join" link at the top of channels to let anyone join and become a member of a channel? I've opened casting for everyone to most of my owned channels, but I'd like to make membership easier.

I feel as if gating the channels was a really bad move for this platform. 

Rather than opening it up, they closed everything, cutting off potential community members.  

I believe FC would of grown much more if they avoided that move.

I agree. I think the permissions are okay, but by default there should've been no gates. By and large I feel that most channels did not want to manage membership/invite only, and that was (generally) useful for larger channels.
