Cat is not too happy.  

She is 22-23 years old and stopped grooming herself.  We've been working at getting the dreads out, but she'll only let us work on it a few minutes at a time:/

Been very lucky that she has lived this long.  Have had her since she was a few months old.  Used to nuzzle my neck like I had teets there or something.

Very difficult with her being so elderly now...it's a lot of work, lots of cleanup.  She refuses to travel more than a few yards to go to the bathroom and harasses with the loudest meows when she's hungry.  Wants food in her dish AT ALL times just in case she wants to take a bite, then walk away.  Also refuses to eat dry food anymore so she's getting 3 cans of wet food per day, plus treats.  She's very spoiled.

Most groomers only deal with dogs.  Haven't found one this does cats yet.  But, being consistent with the grooming is key.  Do as much as the cat will allow in one sitting, they will probably dodge you for the rest of the day, ha.

isn't that a case where a professional groomer is needed? she's already an elder 🤧 my cats butt is starting to have some dreads too. I may have to groom her more often

Aww, poor kitty 22-23 years young and still rocking those dreads, huh? Gentle patience is key here. Hope she lets you work out the tangles soon and gets back to her fabulous self
