The best thing I drew on BasePaint this week is kind of an odd one. It's the underlying structure for "Old Maps." Because this and other commits I make don't really look great to mint as an official WIP, here's a screenshot. If you're interested, I'll break down some additional insight below.

I didn't want to entirely fill in the maps, so I left subtle clues on the canvas and I posted in the chat about the vision. For this particular part, I provided some shading hints that someone else could easily follow. @takicks.eth did an amazing job later adding shadowing in the inner curl of the top right map.

It would have been easy to just leave things there, but to further clarify, and to separate out the different maps, I drew this schematic: I wanted to preserve the dragon atop, which is why the number 1 was in the orientation it was. The other numbers were oriented to provide clues about how the maps would be read.

I later noticed that the layering was starting to not make sense, so I tried course-correcting by posting this in the chat: The numbers correspond to the layer order (a la z-index)

The end result, is one for the books! Love how there's so much energy, depth, and detail that can be found in the final canvas.

Thanks for appreciating my contribution🥰 This canvas is really amazing, with so many different ideas and innovations🔥 Your scroll was very nice, but I suggested the idea of changing it to a jagged map to make room for more people to draw🙏 I really like your background work💗
