Honestly it's not weird :) Many people haven't (while many people have lol). Depends how you go about it. Lots of countries now have it in Ready To Drink (RTD) format, where it's got some other flavours and sugar/agave/sweetner in it. That can be a good first try, but often they actually may not have that much yerba mate in it. I drink it in the traditional manner primarily, with a ceramic 'mate' and metal bombilla (straw with filter on the end), and multiple infusions of hot water. Can also be really good with ice water with lemons or orange sliced up in it in the summer. There a whole culture of service around the preparing and serving of it that has always resonated with me, adn as I drink it, I remember all of my friends in the past that I've prepared and drank with. If you're going with traditonal style, you want to be careful not to use full boiling water, as it will make it more bitter. It's also good practice to give it a quick rinse with cold water to prepare it. Ofc.. it also comes in tea bags
