When I hear people saying things like “AI can't possibly hurt anyone because it's just math” (or “just software”), I don't think they're fully taking safety concerns seriously.

If it’s in response to another EA doomsday scenario I can see myself saying the same thing. Context matters. Over-indexing on safety is a bigger danger at the current moment then under-indexing. By a good distance too imo
