Metaverse never made sense to me except as science fiction. Because you can’t navigate a virtual space by walking (you’ll hit a physical wall in your environment), it’s hosed. And those to whom virtual escapism most appeals are likely also the most physically constrained.

I always understood Metaverse as a shared database that everyone has access to and no one controls. Virtual worlds are just one (not the most interesting) use case.
