Trying to decide where to travel in Spain in November. Anyone have any favorite cities other than Barcelona and Madrid. And would they rank above or below those two cities?

Replied deeper in a sibling post, I can't recommend València, the South (Granada, Malaga) and the North (Basque Country, Santander, Galicia) enough

Considering to spend a year somewhere in Spain (me encanta mucho!) so the kids can enroll in school and really *get* Spanish. We loved 4 months in Valencia but schools 50/50 valenciano/castellano. Out of that list, where’s the best for 100% castellano?

There are lots of places. In my case León (my hometown), Asturias and Cantabria would be perfect. We love the beach and the mountains and Asturias and Cantabria deliver. Also the food is amazing.

In the North the places I’ve shared both Basque Country and Galicia teach classes in their corresponding language. In València maybe you can find private schools, otherwise Málaga is a very nice area and the most similar
