for anyone wondering where aid workers & volunteers like myself are still able to work: the green checkmarks are some of the areas (it changes daily). red is russian army advancing from every direction, the white triangle - higher risk of being hit by FPV drones & artillery, roads are being mined by sabotage groups, high risk of ambush there as well as the roads are being shot through.

it’s so sad and horrible that now it is considered to be “normal” because the world got used to it, so many of the horrible attacks don’t even make international news and people even blame Ukraine for continuing to stand up against occupation, absolutely mind boggling 🥺

We talk about this with our kids in the context of US politics quite often. Certain candidates promise "ending the war before I even start", but the only possibility of that is to redraw borders based on current occupation. And that would mean a re-armament and another incursion for more territory in the future. That is NOT acceptable!

exactly. and it’s not like it’s empty land being occupied—there are people trapped in these cities under occupation who can’t leave because of constant bombing and russians not letting them out. the are no "green corridors" for evacuation or escaping the occupation. people are being tortured and forced to live in basements, and thousands of children are being kidnapped and forcibly transferred to russia, with their identities erased. russia doesn’t just want empty territories; they want to subjugate and erase people. meanwhile, foreign politicians are still debating about "freezing" the frontline or giving up territories, as if there aren’t actual humans living there and it’s just trading empty land with the invaders 😤
